The World Antimicrobial Awareness Week commences today 18th November to 24th November, 2020.
World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) aims to increase awareness of global antimicrobial resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections.
A global action plan to tackle the growing problem of resistance to antibiotics and other antimicrobial medicines was endorsed at the Sixty-eighth World Health Assembly in May 2015. One of the key objectives of the plan is to improve awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance through effective communication, education and training. WAAW is celebrated annually from 18 to 24 November.
This is why the SUCC for health will be organizing a week awareness of AMR so as to promote awareness and understanding of Antimicrobial Awareness Week.
If you are an healthcare Student or you are just passionate about good health and well-being, kindly volunteer to help us achieve our aim.
