THE US ELECTION AND THE AMERICAN DREAM

As the United States presidential election concludes very soon, the world will experience another wave of leadership and politics.ay is the United State’s presidential election How will the result affect us as an ordinary Nigerian student? Honestly, the answer is unknown. However, the product of this process will definitely have an impact on the American Dream of many Nigerian students. How? Read on and find out.

The US democracy hosts a two political parties; the Democrats and The Republicans. Overtime, each party has integrated certain ideologies that drive their campaign. These two parties are always at loggerheads with one-another. They often seem to take opposite stands on critical issues like health policies, abotion law, immigration policy e.t.c. Hence, individuals can predict what the United States’ international relations climate would look like for the next 4 years.

Truly, the system is like a two sided coin; it’s either head or tail. The Republicans and their candidate, Donald Trump hold a strong policy against immigration of Nigerians, Mexicans and Arabs. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, the US government restricted the options of all Nigerian international students to only 3 years. On the other hand, Joe Biden (who is the Democrats’ candidate) aims to focus his government on health-care. Thus, we could see the return of the Obamacare initiative. These, his anti-white supremacy notion, alongside other plans in his manifesto suggest hope for young Africans.

Therefore, the result of the election is everyone’s business. Moreso, educational tourism is not the only reason for this. Students that are involved in Forex trading and even import-export businesses also have their baised expections. Thus, for the next couple of hours is very critical to the fate of many; Americans and Nigerians alike.
