UI VC FINALLY SPEAKS ON THE POSSIBILITY OF VIRTUAL LEARNING IN THE UNIVERSITY

In the face of the compulsory shut-down of schools amidst the Covid-19 crisis, and following the widely publicised face-off between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on the establishment of virtual learning initiatives in Nigerian tertiary institutions, and the subsequent video conference meeting of all provosts, rectors, and vice-chancellors; the vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, finally speaks on the possibility of such in the institution.

In a lengthy broadcast released on 25th April, 2020, the UI don revealed how the institution was a few steps ahead in the possible implementation of the e-learning platform. He also outlined a few challenges and scenario that the institution might further undertake.
